Here is what I wrote for my Week 1. I thought it might help to see what someone else did, although I'm not sure I would always follow my own lead. :)
The program is a tutorial program presented by the California School Library Association. The main purpose of the program is to allow teachers to experience and learn about the newest tools available on the internet, especially the ones that students are using everyday. The format of the tutorial is done with activities. There are twenty-three activities and each one explores a different tool on the internet.
7 ½ Habits of a Life Long Learner
My goal is to learn about technology that I can integrate into my writing lab courses. Right now, all we do is Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and the Internet. I want to know how I can let my students explore the tools of the internet and have fun.
I would have to say the easiest of the 7 ½ life long learning rules is “Create your own learning toolbox.” I am a very organized person, and I feel I can keep track of everything I need to remain a life long learner. I have kept a notebook or folder for each one of my college classes from my 300 levels and up. I have every paper I wrote in college on a flash drive.
I know I can always go to Nancy if I have any problems on my path to finishing the twenty-three things.
I would like to have my twenty-three things finished by the end of fall break. I am a full time graduate student, so I already have so many other due dates that I would like to finish up this program while I am not also teaching.
